With an insulating value of approximately R-3.9 per inch, open-cell foam creates an effective air seal when applied at 3 inches, helping reduce drafts and uncontrolled air leakage throughout your home. It also provides excellent sound attenuation, making it a great choice for reducing noise transfer between rooms and from the outdoors. While open-cell spray foam delivers exceptional air-sealing performance, it is not a structural component and is not a vapor barrier, making it ideal for applications where breathability and sound control are desired while still significantly improving your home's energy performance.
